My cashier typed the wrong PIN too many times and cannot sign in now.

Five wrong tries lock that person for five minutes. Nobody else is affected, and the POS itself is never locked, so somebody typing wrong numbers on purpose cannot shut your counter down. If you cannot wait five minutes, open Settings, The POS, find them under People at the POS and save a new PIN. That clears the wait at once.
