Reviews nobody asks for never arrive
GetMenu sends automatic Google review requests after every delivered order. When an order is marked delivered, the customer gets a short thank-you with your Google review link, by WhatsApp from your own number or by text from your own SIM. It goes 30 minutes later by default. You set it up once, and nobody has to remember to ask.
Why restaurants get so few Google reviews
Most happy customers never leave a review, because nobody asked them to. They enjoy the meal, close the chat and get on with their day. The review they would happily have written never gets written.
Asking takes a person and a free moment, and a busy restaurant has neither. The rider is already on the way to the next order. The manager is answering new messages. A thank-you to every customer after every delivery gets sent on quiet days and forgotten on busy ones.
A customer with a complaint often finds the review page without being asked. So the few reviews a restaurant has may not show how most of its customers feel. A new customer comparing places on Google then sees less reason to choose yours.
How to ask customers for a Google review after delivery
With GetMenu, you do not have to ask by hand. When an order is marked delivered, GetMenu sends the customer a WhatsApp message with your Google review link, once the delay you choose has passed.
The message thanks the customer by your restaurant's name, says you hope they enjoyed the meal and asks them to rate you. The link sits on its own line. One tap opens your Google review page, where the customer picks the stars and writes what they think.
The message goes out from your own WhatsApp number, the same number that sends the customer their order messages. So it reads as a note from your restaurant, not from an app. Each delivered order gets one request. If someone marks the same order delivered twice, the customer still gets only one message.
Sent 30 minutes after delivery by default. You can change the delay.
Automatic review request after delivery: what starts it
The review request starts when an order is marked delivered. Your team can do this on the orders board, and riders can do it from WhatsApp.
On the orders board, staff press Mark delivered on one order, or tick several orders and mark them delivered together. Each order gets its own review request, timed from that moment. A rider does not need the dashboard at all. The delivery ticket in your riders' group carries a link. When the rider taps it and confirms, the order is marked delivered and its review request is set up in the same step.
Every delivered order gets one, wherever it came from. Phone orders and WhatsApp chat orders typed in at the POS reach your riders the same way, and the rider closes them with the same link. Cancelled orders never get a review request. If your team often forgets to mark orders delivered, you can switch on a follow-up for those orders. The questions below explain how it works.

When to send a review request: you choose the delay
GetMenu sends the review request 30 minutes after the order is marked delivered, unless you choose another delay. You can type any number of minutes from 1 to 10,080, which is seven days.
A short delay reaches the customer soon after the meal, while they still remember it. A longer delay gives them time to finish eating first. The delay counts from the moment the order is marked delivered, at any time of day, so choose one that suits your opening hours.
The delay sits on the Automations page, under the switch that turns review requests on or off. The same page has the re-order reminder, the message that invites the customer to order again. It has its own delay, set in hours, so the two messages do not have to arrive together. Leave the box empty to keep the default.

How to get your Google review link and add it to GetMenu
Your Google review link comes from your Google Business Profile. On a computer, open your profile, press Read reviews, then Get more reviews, then Copy.
In the Google Maps app on a phone, tap your profile picture, then Your Business Profile, then Get more reviews, and copy the link from there. It starts with https://g.page/r/ and ends with /review.
In GetMenu, open Settings, then Branding & logo. Paste the link into the field "Google review URL (sent after delivery)" and save. Review requests are switched on by default once the link is there. While the field is empty, nothing is sent. The Automations page also greys out the review switch and shows a warning that review requests will not send, so a missing link never fails without you knowing.
How to track review requests: see who tapped the link
Every review request carries a short link, so GetMenu can count the taps. Your dashboard shows how many review links were sent and how many were tapped at least once.
On the Growth and Pro plans, the Tracked links report goes further. It lists every link with the order, the customer, the number of taps and the time of the last one. The count is careful. The preview WhatsApp makes of a link is not counted as a tap, and the same person tapping again within an hour counts once.
The report counts taps on the link. The reviews themselves stay on your Google Business Profile, where you read them and reply. If many links go out and few are tapped, try a different delay before you change anything else.
Send review requests by text message, and get replies on WhatsApp
The review request can also go as a text message from your own SIM. Pair a spare Android phone with GetMenu, then choose one of three settings for review requests: off, only if WhatsApp fails, or always, as well as WhatsApp.
Keep the paired phone switched on and connected, because a text copy waits at most three hours for it. Your mobile operator charges for the texts in the usual way, and the feature itself costs nothing extra.
Replies work the way they always have. The request comes from your own WhatsApp number, so a customer who had a problem with the order can answer it in the same chat. Their reply arrives on your phone like any other customer message. Someone on your team can then say sorry and put it right, in a private chat.

Frequently asked questions
Will a regular customer get a review request after every order?
Yes, one for each delivered order. GetMenu does not limit it to once per customer, so someone who orders every week gets a thank-you with your link each week. Marking the same order delivered twice never sends a second message. If that feels like too much for your customers, you can switch review requests off on the Automations page at any time.
What if my team forgets to mark an order delivered?
Switch on "Also follow up on orders nobody marked delivered" on the Automations page. It is off until you turn it on. An order nobody closed then counts as complete when its timer runs out, by default 12 hours after you confirmed it or 15 hours after it was placed. The review request and the re-order reminder then follow, with the usual delays. The customer is never told their food arrived.
Does GetMenu only ask happy customers for a review?
No. Every customer whose order is marked delivered gets the same request, whatever they thought of the meal. GetMenu does not sort customers, guess their mood or hold back unhappy ones. A customer who had a problem can reply to the message instead of writing a review, and the reply reaches your own WhatsApp, where you can answer them in that chat.
Can I give customers a reward for leaving a Google review?
Google's rules forbid rewards for reviews, and a restaurant reported for it can lose all its reviews. GetMenu has an optional reward for tapping your review link, never for writing a review, and it starts switched off. You must read Google's warning before turning it on, and the customer is told the reward does not depend on what they write. It is on the Growth and Pro plans.
Do phone orders get a Google review request too?
Yes. With the POS add-on, your cashier types a phone order in once at the POS, and your riders get it on WhatsApp the same way as an online order. The rider closes it with the same one-tap link. The customer then gets the same thank-you with your Google review link, after the delay you chose. Orders sent in a WhatsApp chat and typed in at the POS work the same way.
Do I need restaurant CRM software to send review requests?
No. Each review request is tied to an order, so it goes to the WhatsApp number the customer gave when they ordered. You do not need a separate customer list, an import or a second tool. You add your Google review link once, and every order marked delivered after that sends its own request, with no list to keep up to date.
Are review requests included in the free trial?
Yes. Review requests come with every GetMenu plan, and they work during the 15 free days, with no card needed to start. Every plan's dashboard shows how many review links were sent and tapped. The Tracked links report, which lists each link and the customer who tapped it, is on the Growth and Pro plans. The pricing page shows the plans in your own currency.
