When does an earned gift card actually reach the customer?

When an order finishes. Rules are checked at the moment an order completes, so a customer crosses the line on their next completed order rather than at midnight. Cancelled orders never count. The anniversary rule works the same way, so the card lands on their first order after the year mark rather than on the date itself.
