Where do I see the POS price before I commit to anything?

Two places, and they agree. Our pricing page carries the figure publicly, and Settings, Plan and billing carries it inside your own dashboard in the panel called The POS, showing the price before VAT and the amount that would actually be charged in your currency. Nothing is charged until you press the button there. Account, trial and billing in the docs explains every line on that screen.
