Can I take a booking over the phone myself?

Yes. The same page has a Book form at the bottom: name, people, when, phone, a table if you want to give one, and notes. It joins the same list as the ones guests make, and each row says which way it arrived. You can enter up to 60 people yourself, where the public form stops at 12.
