Do I need a QR code on every table, or one for the room?

One per table, and every code is different. The code is what tells the kitchen which table the food is for, so a shared code would send everything to the same place. Each table gets its own scan link the moment you add it. Settings → Tables & QR ordering → QR design & print pack turns them all into cards ready to print.
