How does a split table close itself?

Each bill is charged on its own, and the table closes by itself once every bill is paid and the table's own leftover money is in. If you try to charge the whole table while bills are still open, it refuses and tells you to take each bill separately. Every bill carries the table's name and a number after the order reference, so the paperwork stays together.
