What is the difference between restaurant management software and a POS?

A POS takes the sale at the counter. Restaurant management software is everything around it: the menu, the prices, stock, staff, reports, customers and your ordering page. Here they are the same system, so a sale at the counter brings the stock down, the sale shows in the same report as an online order, and nothing is copied by hand between two products.
