Why can't my group use a discount code?

The group checkout offers no coupons, no round-up, no upsell shelves — one shared bill with a dozen contributors makes a code discount impossible to attribute fairly. Participants do get the loyalty-card invitation on the shared cart page, which is how a friend's +1 becomes your customer.
